The one and
only T-16 carrier issued to the 48th Highlanders of Canada, in Holland,
1945. The 48th antitank platoon had used CMP 15cwt trucks to tow their
guns and provide all-weather protection for the crews, all through the
Italian campaign, and the introduction of the T-16 once they arrived in
Holland was met with a less than enthusiastic response. At that stage in
the war, their crews had come to appreciate the room and
weather-protection of the truck. They kept their 15cwts...
The gentleman
in the photo above is Pte. Dick Kenzie, who served with the 48th's
carrier platoon through most of the war. Thanks to Art Johnson & Dick
